BTW, the hammer/main spring is one and the same, not 2 springs as your post seems to indicate.

This is only a diagnostic.at very best, temporary fix. You can get an idea if the sear spring is the cause by straightening the sear spring.if it appears bent like a bow. The sear spring is anchored to the bottom of the frame by a button and interacts/applies pressure with/to the curved bottom of the sear. I'm speaking of the long flat spring situated at the rear of the magazine well. I'm not speaking of the, non-existent in your "T", sear lever coil spring. Just noticed.my "hammer/main spring tension" reference should have read "sear/hammer/main spring tension" as possible causes for your hammer follow issue, my bad. Within the "T" production run there were a few Tangents though.

"T"s are sought after b/c of their fit/finish/features.

The "T" does not delineate a Tangent, it's simply a SN prefix FN used between the previous numbers only SNs and the "C" Series SNs. Where is the malfunction? What do you think? I did not take it out to the test range because every time I arm it, when the slide travels forward, the hammer goes to the half-cocked position or it goes all the way and hits the firing pin. I don't know how many rounds were fired from this gun before I purchased it (I think only a few).

View attachment 14763 View attachment 14764 I attached two pictures, one with the sear lever and the other with the upper part of the slide, where there is a small hole which I think might mean that after all there should be a spring under the sear lever. The question is> should there be a small spring under the sear lever of my FN HP? Because if there should be one, I don't have it. My next question is a technical one and it concerns the sear lever (I think this is also known as transfer bar).

The package arrived without the manual so I don't know the manufacture year.

This is for the serious collector who knows what they want & what they are getting.I recently bought from Germany an FN HP with the serial number T 379818. This particular one also comes with an original magazine marked JI & the original holster which make it as complete a package for your collection as could be. This indicates this was number 424 of the 2 nd batch made for the Allied SF making it a very desirable gun indeed. These were made in batches of 10,000 with each batch starting with the batch number, in this case batch 2 followed by the letter T with the number after this going up to 9,999. These were without the tangent rear sights & no slot. After the initial Chinese contract run, the Inglis factory began making Hi Powers for the British & Canadian special forces. Not only has this one remained in original condition, it is an extremely low numbered gun. If numbers & markings are in black, this is a surefire indicator the pistol has been refinished & worth much less. This meant all numbers & markings should be white, or the colour of the metal underneath.

When the Inglis Hi Powers were made, the serial numbers & markings were applied after the finish. Interestingly, the Browning Hi Power was the only firearm used officially by both sides during WW2, having also been made for the Nazi’s by the FN factory after it was overrun. Here you have here a hard to find Inglis Hi Power in absolutely original mint condition with all numbers ‘in the white’. 1943 Inglis Hi Power with original holster & magazine
